Our events

In addition to our regular in-school classes, the Blooming Minds project runs:
Taster days and staff training at schools and at the University of Greenwich.
Teacher training and CPD both in schools and at the University of Greenwich.
Conferences and workshops on philosophical topics, methodology and issues in the teaching of philosophy to children.
Special events (e.g. pre-exam relaxation classes and summer ‘Thinking is Fun’ courses).

CURRENT AND ON-GOING EVENTS

Jan-June 2016. On-going weekly classes and teacher training with Y4, Y5 and Y6 pupils and teachers at three London schools.

April/May 2016. Pre-SATS relaxation and Meditation sessions for Y6 pupils.

May 2016. Study visit from Midfield Primary School.

June/July 2016. Graduation Ceremonies for our current schools at the University of Greenwich main campus.

July 2016. Graduation of our newly qualified facilitators.

August 2016. Summer Philosophy events in London – watch this space!

RECENT EVENTS

Feb 2016. Release of DVD. Blooming Minds: How to facilitate Philosophy in the classroom.

December 2015. Documentary and video clips on Philosophy with Children in action using the Blooming Minds method. Filmed and edited by Glocal Films. http://www.glocalfilms.net

October – Dec 2015. Blooming Minds teams will be working with Years 5 and 6 pupils in Wyborne Primary school and Bexley Business Academy this term.

September 2015. Blooming Minds ran a session on ‘The Big Questions’ for primary and secondary school teachers in SE London and kent, hosted by Sidcup and Chislehurst grammar school.

August 2015. Philosophy in the Park. Summer sessions in Victoria Park, London.

July 2015. Conference presentation ‘A Question of Method’ and talk on the Blooming Minds project at the Philosophy in Schools with Teachers Conference at the University of Leeds.

July 2015. Graduation events for Wyborne Primary school, Willowbank Primary School, and Bexley Business Academy at the University of Greenwich campuses

June 2015. CPD in Philosophy for Children for Primary teachers.
